LovePacs for Spring Break!

We are excited to share a new ministry opportunity with you! Faith, Faith Kids and Faith Lutheran Day School (“FLDS”) are partnering with LovePacs to provide meals for local children over Spring Break.

LovePacs is a Faith-based organization, distributing packaged meals for disadvantaged families throughout DFW. Several of our local elementary and middle schools are classified as Title 1 – meaning that at least 30% of the students attending are on the free or reduced lunch program. Many of these students are living below the poverty line. The LovePacs ministry fills a void for these students when school isn’t in session. LovePacs feeds these students over the course of a school break, allowing them to not worry where their meals will come from.

The meals provided are boxed to ensure sufficient food for three children in a family over the course of the 9-day Spring Break. The meals are all canned items and represent a balance, including fruits & vegetables.

Faith will be collecting money during Noisy Offering on Sunday, February 4th to be used towards the preparation of Spring Break meal boxes for LovePacs. Money can continue to be donated during the month of February via PushPay by choosing the LovePacs 'giving type'.

Faith, Faith Kids and FLDS are also hosting a food drive from February 4 – 25 to collect needed food items. There is a list of specific types of food items needed, which can be found below this message or at the Welcome Center. Donations should be brought to the dedicated & marked collection spot in the Gathering Place.

Please join us as we further God’s mission of providing for these students and developing relationships that matter!

So, What do the kids think about their new playground?

Well, let's watch this video from Opening Day...

As you can see, the FLDS students were so excited to try it out!

We are so grateful to everyone who donated funds to make this happen.  A huge thank you to Bruce Turner and his crew for installing the new equipment. We are so grateful to Bruce for sharing his expertise and crew to complete this project!

There are more phases to complete, and as funds become available we will be adding and replacing items.
