Being Offended Without Becoming Offensive!
Series: True Identity
Category: Forgiveness, Identity
Passage: Proverbs 19:1-11
Speaker: Rusty Sullivan
Why do we allow small offenses to affect us in a big way? We are often times quick to judge and really slow to overlook the offense of others. In other words…we are quick to be offended by another’s offense…so we ourselves become offensive.
But what if there was another way? A better way of handling those situations and circumstances where we feel offended by someone or something?
In this message, we will learn that “overlooking” is not the same as pretending something didn’t happen…it is an intentional decision to let it go. And we will learn to remember and embrace the truth that because God’s grace was given to me in Jesus:
- I will give others the benefit of the doubt.
- I will not label others.
- I will forgive as I have been forgiven.
