The Invisibility of Inadequacy

Sermon Series: We are not our labels. We are not who others say we are. And we aren’t the broken self-image we see in the mirror. So how can we more fully become who we are truly meant to be? By laying down who we think we are to become who God says we are. By tackling some of the issues addressed in this series like feelings of inadequacy, the need to be in control, and our longings for approval – and learn to exchange these feelings for the grace and love of Christ. So let’s get started… and discover our TRUE identity!

Because of You

Loving and caring for each other. Bringing peace and truth into darkness. Pointing each other toward Jesus. It’s the Church, and it’s a beautiful expression of God at work through us. Today we take a look at what’s coming to life at Faith “Because of You.”

Words to Live By

Your thoughts can hold you back, push you down, and feed you lies. But they can also lift you up! Is it time for you to change the way you’re thinking? Start with something simple—let’s find some Words to Live By. In this stand-alone message, Pastor Rusty will teach how our thoughts affect our outlook. He'll urge people to create a short list of declarations to say each morning about themselves and who they are in Christ.

It Can't End Like This

Mark's gospel ends with the Resurrection of Jesus, but it does so in a most unsatisfactory way…namely…there is no Jesus. In fact, the last sentence of Mark’s gospel (i.e. “Good News”) is “They said nothing to anyone because they were afraid" (NOT Good News!). But it can’t end like this…can it? In today’s message, we look at The Resurrection Story (especially Mark’s version) not as an “ending”…but as the new beginning it was always intended to be! We will explore how not only this story, but our story, isn’t meant to end in frustration, failure, and fear…but instead how these things can become hinges for God’s forgiveness, grace, mercy, and love to flood our lives so that story always ends the same…in the victory of Jesus!

How You Say "Hosanna" Matters!

Even though Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem was celebrated…it was unexpected. And although he was initially welcomed…he was eventually rejected and condemned by those who had sung “Hosanna” just days before. But why? How? What was it that turned the tide so quickly against Jesus? Perhaps it is because Jesus didn’t receive their praise and accolades the way they thought he should…as others would have. Or maybe it is because Jesus saw through their façade of praise and dared to challenge what others had never dared to challenge before. Or maybe it was some of both. Today we will explore the truth that “How we say 'Hosanna' Matters”. That Jesus does not simply come to be welcomed by us…but to change us…forever…for the better. And in this message, we will learn what that is in part meant to look like in our everyday lives.

The "X" Factor

Sometimes it's good if things don't add up. When God is in the equation, we can end up with way more than we expected. Learn what can happen in our lives when we shift our thinking and start to multiply.

Stop Going to Church!

We’re going to tell people to stop going to church! But we’re not telling them to stop attending. Instead, we’re going to be showing them how they can stop going to church and start being the church…how to stop just being present at church (sometimes…you know when there isn’t something more important going on elsewhere) and start being planted as the church in everyday life in a faithful/fruitful way!

First Things First

The most important thing doesn't always get the first priority, but it should. What will it take to stop being distracted by the urgent and start focusing on the meaningful? Today, Pastor Rusty talks about how we must decide to put first things first.
