#TomorrowMatters ~ Funding the Mission

main image

"This took a while and a lot of thinking/praying...$10 doesn’t seem like much. But in Honduras it can go a long ways. Eric Wooldridge, the Assistant Pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church in Auburn, WA, is resigning his Call to conduct mission work in Honduras with the “Farm of the Child Organization”. He will take his family (wife and two very young daughters) with him to do this important work. He will not be receiving any salary and therefore is taking donations for his work and family. I have added to the initial amount to bring the total to $200. I have also encouraged a friend that will match our investment. He and his wife have done this work in the past and want to take advantage of the age of their children to give them a very unique serving experience. I ask that we keep them all in our prayers. If anyone would like to donate please go to this site: lifeonthefinca.com." ~ Ransom Alexander

#TomorrowMatters ~ Giving is Good!

"I have six members in my family and we felt very blessed to have received $575 from #TomorrowMatters Initiative. There are so many needs in our community it’s hard to pick just one to donate to. We elected to donate the funds to Denton County Friends of the Family. They are dedicated to providing services to those impacted by sexual abuse or domestic violence while reaching out to the community to promote safety, healing and prevention. In speaking to Randi Skinner, the director of the facility she was very thankful to Faith Lutheran Church for this donation. The donation will help provide new play therapy rooms for the children that they serve and we decided to increase it to $750. Faith Lutheran Church has a new friend in the community and we look forward to touring the Friends of the Family facility and build a relationship with them for the future. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to give. Giving is Good!" ~ Bruce Turner & family

#TomorrowMatters ~ Hope Rising from the Suffering

main image

"We have a friend from Via de Cristo who suffers from severe depression and anxiety. She started Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy within the past few weeks so that she might have a chance at a happy life without the use of antidepressants, anti-anxiety, bipolar drugs. She has suffered from depression since she was 4. She has been on medication most of her life. Her anxiety is crippling and overwhelming most of the time. Her psychiatrist told her there is nothing they can do for her medicinally anymore. She needs to raise $6,400 to cover the deductible and out of pocket costs for this life-changing treatment.

Kathleen and I received $60 from Faith. We doubled that and contributed $120 to our friend. We pray others are able to help our friend pay for this needed treatment." ~ The Gray Family
